SMP & EyeBrowse News

19th December: Website to be left unchanged for a week

No, we are not slacking, just taking a much-deserved break from the hard work that keeps SMP going. OK, so only one of us is actually taking a break. Kris shall hopefully continue programming EyeBrowse 2.0 and get the first beta of TextKeeper out of the way but I am off to Portugal today. So I hand over the webmaster keys to Kris and tell him to look after them for a while. See you all again soon!

14th December: Visual Developer Paul gets engaged!

This may come as a bit of a shock to those that know me, but I have got engaged to my girlfriend of one year today, Donna Field. I proposed during a meal at a restaurant in Exeter, unfortunately without a ring. However, the ring was ordered today and shall be ready just after christmas, so in our mind the bond is equally as valid, and this shall be considered our official engagment day. We are of course very happy.

12th December: Development begins on 'TextKeeper'

The second ever SMP project, 'TextKeeper' has begun development. TextKeeper shall be a utility that stores multiple clipboard text, that can then be pasted into documents, forms etc. If you have never wanted to do that then we are confused. Personally, I can't wait for this program to be completed, which could be some time yet.

10th December: About Kris pages now up

This is possibly the least exciting piece of news so far. There are now 'about' pages up for both Kris and myself, containing something we wrote about ourselves as well as each other. Want to know Paul's first computer? Didn't think so, but just incase, now you can.

9th December: The first ideas for EyeBrowse 2.0 are discussed

With only three days passed since the release of EyeBrowse 1.5 (a continuing success), programmer Kristan Dyson and visual developer Paul Wolfenden have began discussing ideas for the next version. Currently planned are the inclusion of a thumbnail browser and a web-style browsing method. It is sounding good already! EyeBrowse 2 is due for release sometime in January, but don't hold us to that!

8th December: EyeBrowse 1.5 is a huge success!

Although at the time of writing, EyeBrowse 1.5 has only been available for about 36 hours, we have already seen our counter increase by 300 and 117 people have downloaded the program from this site. Kris and myself, Paul, cannot believe it. Thankyou so much to everyone who has downloaded it, keep your feedback coming!

7th December: Rejoice! EyeBrowse 1.5 is here at last!

SMP is very proud to announce the release of Version 1.5 of our graphic viewer, EyeBrowse. If you need a graphic viewerm this is it. Packed full of great new and improved features that are too long to list here. Makes the old version 1.0 of EyeBrowse look very bad. It even embaresses us to think we let people download it now!

6th December: EyeBrowse 1.5 Final Beta is sent to beta testers

On the final day before release, we have sorted ourselves out and got the final beta sent away for testing. A few features have been removed, but this is still a totally different program to the original. We can't wait until you see it and tell us what you think. Oh, and sorry about the little hoax yesterday with the 'SMP has quit' thing. It was a bit of a private joke between us. Sorry to scare you.

5th December: Kristan cracks under the pressure of finishing EB 1.5

As the release date closes in on the SMP team, lead programmer Kristan Dyson starts to lose control of his mind as he tries to finish EyeBrowse for a Monday release. All I can say is calm down Kris, everything will work out fine. Meanwhile, Paul is trying to get the new pages ready for Monday, so people can actually get hold of a copy of EyeBrowse 1.5. Is this the end of our tired team? Of course not, just a technical glitch in lifes fishpond.

4th December: The technical support pages are now up for EyeBrowse

It's your friendly webmaster Paul again. I have been working very hard on the website over the past 24 hours and there is now substantially more content, including the longly awaited technical support pages and much more EyeBrowse home content.

1st December: EyeBrowse becomes the new name for Image Browser

After an official SMP meeting between programmer Kris and visual developer Paul, Image Browser is considered to no longer exist, in favour of its new name 'EyeBrowse'. Don't laugh, anything is better than the far-too-common Image Browser name. Please bear with us as we update these pages to use the new name.

29th November: EyeBrowse Home updated with much more content.

Paul is proud to announce that EyeBrowse now has its own proper home, instead of the single-page it previously occupied. More pages and content shall be added as work progresses.

28th November: Screenshot of EyeBrowse 1.5 unveiled here.

See a screenshot of what the next EyeBrowse shall look like and find more information about its new features on the preview page. Kristan is now working hard to get those features in and working!

27th November: SMP Website updated with a great new look! Tell us what you think.

The still-teething SMP website gets a makeover already, in the form of borders on every page and improved content and pages. There is still a lot to do over the coming weeks though, before Paul can put his feet up and rest for a while.

26th November: EyeBrowse Version 1.5 release date announced for Monday 7th December.

Over the next two weeks this is what will be keeping SMP extremely busy. We are proud to announce the official release date for EyeBrowse 1.5 as Monday 7th December. We have many great ideas for this project and shall be working hard to implement them in time for the release.

23rd November: EyeBrowse 1.0b replaces 1.0, with many bugfixes.

EyeBrowse 1.0a is replaced by 1.0b. We released 1.0a not realising that it was full of bugs, some quite annoying, so we have released this version to fix them all (we hope). Apologies to those who got 1.0a, we didn't know about the problems until it was too late!

21st November: The first EyeBrowse is released (as Image Browser 1.0a)

EyeBrowse has been released (then as Image Browser). This is the first ever release of our graphic viewer, that has been several months in development prior to release. The website is in an early stage at this time but Paul is striving to update it with more content as much as possible.
